There’s still a lot coming up this year. If you haven’t been to the Bucks County Women’s History Month Awards, I urge you to attend this year on March 21. Members of various local women’s groups will be there. The next day, the Bucks County Women’s Advocacy Coalition will hold their annual Conversation with Elected Officials, a chance to hear about the challenges facing the challenges of economic security and take part in a dialogue with county, state and federal elected officials and other representatives of government departments. (See the enclosed flyer).
Our April annual business meeting will be preceded this year by a catered brunch where we hope to have many of our new members and recent scholarship recipients present. In May, the 23rd Annual Girls’ Recognition is takes place, followed in June by the awards dinner
For those looking to volunteer: Cops ‘n’ Kids has a busy schedule. The spring PAGES™ conference needs chaperones and other helpers on April 13. The Branch will once again have a table at the Neshaminy STEAM Expo, which takes place this year on April 30. And Shyla needs volunteers for the GRR in various capacities.
Please consider joining the board of directors. The current board has pared down meetings and conducts many of them by conference call. No more Roberts Rules or unnecessary reports. We focus on immediate planning and urgent decisions. But we need more voices and more energy. If you can afford to contribute a few hours of your time each month to the branch, we will be happy to have you on board.
I’m looking forward to seeing you all soon.
Kathy Quinn, Acting President for March
