If you missed the branch’s 50th anniversary celebration on April 28, 2018, you missed a great time. Members mingled with guests, shared memories about the branch, thumbed through scrapbooks recording the branch’s history, and ate great food.
Among the guests were Lower Bucks Branch members Martha Czop and Barbara Price (AAUW-PA co-chair of public policy) were notable. AAUW-PA’s incoming president Ann Pehle came all the way from Carlisle, PA, to give us her congratulations.
One highlight of the day was a recognition award that was presented to 100-year-old member Bea Donini by Kate Sweeney.
It took a lot of people to organize the event who deserve our heartfelt thanks:
- Linda Lackpour, Kathy Quinn and Kate Sweeney handled the email and mail invitations.
- Patti Reali-Santoro arranged the catering and food service by McCaffrey
- Kate and Patti, along with members Claire Passantino, Mary Auker, Linda Lackpour, and Eileen Heitman, also helped set up the tables and decorate Yardley Friends Meeting hall with beautiful flower arrangements.
- Kate and Dori Kramer, branch historian, organized the scrapbooks from among the wealth of material that Dori holds.
Many other members were involved in some way, including in particular Shyla Jagannatha, Carol Kurland.
