AAUW-PA Convention: Public Policy

when women get involved, the conversation changesThere was an excellent session during the state convention on Public Policy Priorities and Initiates that AAUW-PA presented by Co-Chairs Ann Pehle and Barbara Price.

AAUW-PA’s Public Policy Committee has endorsed the following themes/issues which will be a priority during the 2018-2020 period:

  • Democracy and self-governance
  • Quality systems of public education
  • Improving economic self-sufficiency of all women
  • Improving the operation and transparency of government

If members would like to take a deeper dive into what happened during the statewide meeting this past April, we are providing here a link to a slideshow of AAUW-PA state convention overview.

Note: Information about our branch’s 50th Anniversary, unfortunately, was not represented in the highlights section due to an oversight on the part of the state organization. They have acknowledged this error and we have requested that the online presentation also be corrected to note the milestone anniversary of the AAUW Makefield Area Branch.

AAUW Makefield Area Board Secretary Patti Reali-Santoro attended this year’s state convention on behalf of the branch and prepared this report on the highlights.
